Soon to follow are boughs of melted chocolate, espresso coffee, and hints of preserved raisins, dark fruits, prunes, and newly cooked marmalade. The tongue is treated to hues of wood spiced with pepper, baked cinnamon, and chocolate-covered hazelnuts over tendrils of stewed fruits and a surprising pop of balsamic vinegar.
